Meet the Team
TLC: The Builder & The Guardian
My natural spiritual gifts are Building, Research, Caring, and Leading. While my wife publicly teaches and encourages others, I'm the steady, even-keeled leader behind the scenes. My focus is on tactically implementing to maximize effectiveness and minimize threat, ensuring your business is safe and supported.
I'm the one who designs the daily systems, analyzes the data, and ensures that every detail is aligned with the bigger picture. My fulfillment comes from seeing the incredible results that are produced from building with intentionality and obedience to God.
When I'm not working, you'll find me taking our rescue pitty on a run around the neighborhood, coaching my son's 13U baseball team, or listening to my favorite history & science YouTube channels.
Dr. Lee: The Visionary & The Encourager
My natural spiritual gifts are Perception, Exhortation, Research, and Stewardship. I'm the one who can see the misalignment in your business that's causing the pain, help you find the resources you didn't know you had, and encourage you to step into your God-given calling with courage and clarity. I'm a problem-solver, a puzzle-lover, and I'm passionate about helping you build a business that is not only successful, but spiritually and emotionally sustainable.
I'm also an etymology lover (aka a "word nerd") and I love writing and studying language, especially the Bible and other related texts.
When I'm not working with our incredible clients, you can find me at the table doing a large jigsaw puzzle, curled up on the couch with a book, or cheering on our three teenagers at one of their concerts or games.
We live in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by family and a beautiful community of believers who sharpen us daily.

Our Story
We didn't start Regulated Roots because we had it all figured out.
We started it because we learned how valuable it is to NOT pretend to know all the answers.
We've been together since we were college freshman, and have walked every season of adult life side by side. Married for 16 years, we've built not just a family, but a partnership rooted in faith, mutual respect, and a shared calling.
(Fun fact: We're both named Lee—which is why TLC goes by his initials to prevent confusion outside our home!)
For years, we chased the world's definition of success. Dr. Lee became a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner and graduate-level professor, and then left clinical practice to built a thriving online trauma institute. TLC, a master of practical implementation and strategic thinking, excelled in his roles as a stay at home father and head docent at a national Catholic museum.
By all outside measures, we were "successful." But inside, there was a deep sense of spiritual restlessness, that something crucial was missing.
And then, in 2022, we simultaneously experienced a "dark night of the soul." Dr. Lee began deconstructing her faith and exploring new-age spirituality, only to find more confusion and pain, while TLC painfully tried clinging to his crumbling understanding of marriage, work, family, and faith.
It culminated in a moment of surrender in our living room after so much had fallen apart... where we decided we were done trying to muscle through on our own, and ready to surrender to God's plans for us, together.
That decision changed everything. It was the end of building and asking God to bless it, and the beginning of co-creating with Him.
We realized that true regulation- the peace, joy, and self-control we were all seeking- didn't come from mindset tools or somatic practices that we had taught for years.
It came from Jesus, and from building our lives and our businesses on the solid rock of His word.
Soon afterward, we felt a clear calling to close our Institute and create a space for Christian entrepreneurs who wanted to do business differently. A space where people don't have to choose between profit and peace, or success and fulfillment. A space where starting and scaling a business could be approached as an act of worship.
And so, Regulated Roots was born- not with a loud launch, but quietly, with a handful of agency clients, as we learned to apply these principles to one business at a time.
We made mistakes. We learned hard lessons.
But through it all, we saw the fruits of building with the Holy Spirit as our guide: more peace, more impact, and a deeper sense of purpose than any worldly success could ever provide.
